Krishna district joint collector Vijay Krishnan on Monday accepted charges as the new Chief Executive Officer of AP Tourism Authority (APTA) at its head office in Auto Nagar, Vijayawada.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Ms Krishnan told that the duty was a great opportunity to set new benchmarks and improve the tourism area in the state.
She said that she would begin her work by getting to understand the achievements behind projects like F1H2O, Araku Balloon Festival and Cookery Competitions that have made it to the record books like longest Pootareku and Bamboo Chicken.
The 2013 batch IAS officer came into fame for sending a note by opting for the government hospital to give birth to her child when she was the sub-collector of East Godavari district.
She was the first lady IAS officer who communicated to society that Government Hospitals are being well managed and furnished to serve society.
After assuming charge, Ms Krishnan communicated with officers and staff of APTA and studied the tourism projects undertaken in the state.
