Information and broadcasting minister Prakash Javadekar told on Friday after attending the first meeting of the Union cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the newly-appointed finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to present the first Union budget for FY20 on 5th of July in Parliament.
The interim budget for 2019-2020 was presented by Piyush Goyal, the then minister of finance on 1st February. Nirmala Sitharaman, the first full time Indian woman finance Minister is going to present her debut budget and economic survey is going to be released on 4th July.
The parliament session is going to begin on June 17 and the President is going to address the joint session of both the houses of Parliament on 20th of June. The Union Budget is going to be presented during the first session of the Parliament for the new government that continues till July 26.
