Raja Singh Lodha, the lone BJP MLA from Telangana who is known for his controversial comments took a dig at Indian Tennis star Sania Mirza amid the terror attacks in Kashmir.
A hardcore follower of Hindutva ideology, Raja Singh, in a video message demanded Telangana CM KCR to remove Sania Mirza as the brand ambassador of Telangana, as she’s the daughter-in-law of Pakistan.
Raja Singh said whole India has condemned the dastardly act perpetrated by our neighboring country and started breaking all ties with it.
“KCR has also canceled all his birthday celebrations on Sunday as a mark of tribute to the martyred soldiers. He should display the same kind of patriotism by removing tennis superstar Sania Mirza from the post of Telangana brand ambassador,” he said.
Raja Singh also said that Sania Mirza can no longer be called as an Indian as she had married a Pakistani.
“It is not appropriate to continue Sania, a Pakistani Bahu, as the state’s brand ambassador,” he said.
Sania Mirza got married to former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik in April 2010 and the couple lives in Dubai most of the time.
Raja Singh pointed out that there were other famous sportspersons from Telangana like V V S Laxman, Saina Nehwal or P V Sindhu, who had brought medals and laurels to the country.
“You can make any one of them as the brand ambassador, but we don’t want a Pakistani Bahu in that post,” he asserted.
