Rabindranath Tagore belonged to the world- President Ram Nath Kovind

Presenting the Tagore Award for Cultural Harmony, President of India Ram Nath Kovind told in New Delhi that rabindranath Tagore was a remarkable genius who remains one of the world’s foremost cultural icons.

The awards for 2016, 2015 and 2014 were presented to the Statue of Uniity sculptor Ram Vanji Sutar, Bangladeshi cultural organisation Chhayanaut and famous manipuri dancer Rajkumar Singhajit Singh.

President Kovind also added that by ‘our’, he doesn’t mean just India, adding that Tagore belongs to the world. President Kovind also told that Tagore was an internationalist, a nationalist, an advocate of Vishwa Bharati and child of Ma Bharathi.
