Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral meeting with President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena on Friday after taking oath as the 16th Prime Minister of India for the second consecutive term on Thursday with his 57-member council of Ministers. Maithripala Sirisena and Narendra Modi discussed issues of interest of India and Sri Lanka in New Delhi at Hyderabad house in the first of bilateral meetings with foreign dignitaries.
Spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar with his official Twitter handle and wrote that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting with the President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena at Hyderabad House today and that they discussed bilateral issues of interest. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to hold more bilateral meetings with leaders of BIMSTEC countries along with the President of Mauritius and Kyrgyzstan. The BIMSTEC leaders have all witnessed the oath taking ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Thursday.
