Pakistani woman allowed to stay in India by Delhi High Court

Married to an Indian man and residing in India since 2005, a Pakistani women was allowed by the Delhi High Court today to stay on in India while setting aside the government order that asked the lady to leave the country. A division bench of Justice AJ Bhambhani and Chief Justice Rajendra Menon told after hearing the plea of the Pakistani woman who was asked by the Union home ministry to leave India

that the government did not follow the procedure when her deportation was ordered and asked for the consideration of the women’s application for citizenship. Delhi High Court turned down the stand of the government that the decision was taken on the basis of security reports and the court told that the material placed before it including intelligence inputs was not sufficient to take such a step against the Pakistani woman.
