Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir who never hesitates to raise his voice against crime or terrorism has reacted sharply on the Pulwama attack.
Ater India withdrew the Most Favoured Nation (MNF) status accorded to Pakistan after the terror attack in Pulwama district, Gautam Gambhir in a tweet said India should continue their ‘MFN’ status. Taking to his Twitter handle, the former Indian cricketer wrote that only thing is that this time we the civilians will decide what ‘F’ stands for.
The decision to withdraw the MFN status was taken at the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg yesterday. The move will have little impact on trade as the overall trade between both countries is low.
I have some news for Pakistan. We should continue their ‘MFN’ status. Only thing is, that this time we the civilians will decide what ‘F’ stands for.
India granted the MFN status to Pakistan in 1996. Most Favoured Nation status is accorded by one country to another in international trade. India has also accorded MFN status to Bangladesh and Vietnam.
