NOIDA: IMMEDIATELY AFTER NAMAZ ROW, OFFICIALS DISMANTLE MAKE-SHIFT PANDAL FOR KATHA EVENT

In Greater Noida, sector 37, some residents arranged a make-shift pandal for a Katha event, which was subsequently removed by the police while the event was going on after the officials received a complaint in this regard on Wednesday.

This move comes just after a namaz row over a notice issued by the Noida police to local companies stating that they will be held responsible if any of their employees offer namaz in public places, including parks.

The authorities say that the organisers of the event have not taken any sort of permission.

Krishna Kumar Gupta, additional chief executive officer, said, “We had received information that a few people had erected a pandal and organised a ceremony without permission. Due action was taken as per procedure and people were informed that if they wish to organise a ceremony then they can do it after seeking permission from the Greater Noida Authority. The Authority can grant permission after the proposal is properly reviewed by police and city magistrate.”
