The Navahnika annual Brahmotsavams at Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram were off to a bright start with Dhwajarohanam on Sunday morning.
The Garuda Dhwaja was offered worship by a group of Acharyas as per the tenets of Vaikhanasa Agama before it was hosted on Dhwajasthambham at the shrine in the listed Meena Lagnam between 9 am and 9.18 am.
TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal who took part in the propitious festival said that the TTD has made elaborate arrangements for the Brahmotsavams at Srinivasa Mangapuram temple which is observing a steady rise in the number of pilgrims attending the temple located 13 km from Tirupati.
Speaking on the event, Kankana Bhattar who will be liable for the conduct of 9-day Brahmotsavams, said the legend says that those who behold the Dhwajarohanam, Garuda Seva, Brahma Ratham, Snapana Tirumanjanam and Chakra Snanam during this fete will achieve salvation. Temple deputy executive officer Dhananjeyulu, AEO Lakshmaiah, Superintendent Muni Chengalrayulu, temple Inspector Anil and others took part.
