NEW DELHI: LAJPAT NAGAR-MAYUR VIHAR POCKET 1 CORRIDOR OPENS TO THE PUBLIC

The Lajpat Nagar-Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 corridor in the national capital is scheduled to be opened to the public on Monday. The corridor stretches about 9.7 km along the Delhi Metro’s pink line. According to a senior official, the service is planned to begin from 4.00 pm on December 31.

Once the Lajpat Nagar-Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 corridor is opened, sources say only a 1.4-km stretch between Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 and Trilokpuri Sanjay Lake stations will stay linked in this section.

The Lajpat Nagar-Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 corridor consists of five stations, namely, Lajpat Nagar, Vinobapuri, Ashram, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Mayur Vihar Ph-I and Mayur Vihar Pocket-1. It seems Mayur Vihar Phase-I and Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 are elevated stations and the remaining are underground.

The section also accommodates one interchange station Mayur Vihar Phase-1. The section falls under Phase-III of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) network.
