Japan issues statement urging India, Pakistan to exercise restraint

Japan has declared a statement denouncing the February 14 Pulwama terror attack.

Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono, in his statement, said, ” Japan is concerned about the deteriorating situation in Kashmir. Japan fully condemns the terrorist attack on 14 February 2019 for which the Islamic extremist group “Jaish-e-Mohammad” claimed responsibility. Japan asks Pakistan to take effective measures to counter terrorism.”

Mr Kono further urged both nations to exercise control. “In response to the mounting tension due to the operations since 26 February between the Indian Air Force and the Pakistan Air Force, Japan fully urges India and Pakistan to exercise restraint and stabilize the situation through dialogue,” the statement said.
