Chief minister-elect of Andhra Pradesh Jagan Mohan Reddy met the Prime Minister and President of Bharatiya Janata Party Amit Shah rally today for discussing several issues including the special category status for Andhra Pradesh. Jagan Mohan Reddy also discussed the financial situation of the state and also sought Central funds during his discussions with the Prime Minister.
After meeting YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his official Twitter handle for writing that he had an excellent meeting with the CM designate of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The Prime Minister also tweeted that they had a fruitful interaction on several issues pertaining to the development of Andhra Pradesh and that he assures YS Jagan all possible support from the central government during his term as the chief minister of the state.
Speaking to reporters after meeting the Prime Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy told that they wouldn’t have to depend so much on the central government is the Bharatiya Janata Party had been limited to only 250 seats in the Lok Sabha elections adding that the central government doesn’t need them now.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also told that there is very little that can be done in commanding and demanding and that they met the Prime Minister and explained to him why special category status is so important for Andhra Pradesh. YS Jagan added that he is definitely going to make it a point for reminding the Prime Minister of the issue every time he meets him and that he would remind the Prime Minister that this was the word given on the floor of parliament.
