Indian army has said that it could successfully foil a major attack by Pakistan Border Action Team (BAT) at a forward post along the Line of Control(LoC) in Kashmir on Sunday. Pakistan started a fire and it was strongly retaliated by the Indian forces; the fight continued through the whole night; Two Pakistani soldiers have been reported to be killed.
The army said intruders had help and were supported by heavy firing from Pakistan posts. They used high-calibre weapons such as mortars and rocket launcher, say sources. The enemy also tried to move by exploiting thick jungles near to the LoC.
According to sources, search operations revealed that two likely Pakistan soldiers were killed and it led to the recovery of a large cache of warlike stores. It seems few have escaped across the border by taking prevailing conditions such as Pakistan firing, adverse weather conditions and visibility factors.
