Finance and Corporate affairs portfolios assigned to Jaitley by President

According to the information received from a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson on Friday, President of India Ram Nath Kovind directed that the finance and corporate affairs portfolios be assigned to Union Minister Arun Jaitley as suggested by the Prime Minister.

Arun Jaitley, who left for New York on 13th of January for undergoing medical treatment after being diagnosed with soft tissue cancer, returned India last week. The charge of the finance ministry on corporate affairs was given to Piyush Goyal on January 23rd on a temporary basis.

Arun Jaitley attended a cabinet committee meeting on security for discussing the Pulwama attack that caused the lives of at least 40 CRPF soldiers.
