The Indian Air Force’s Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman has become a national hero and the whole nation is waiting in anticipation for his return to India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is in Tamilnadu hailed the services of Abhinandan and said every Indian is proud of him for his brave efforts. Speaking after laying the foundation stone of a railway line between Rameshwaram and Dhanushkodi, Modi added: “I am proud that India’s first woman Defence Minister is from Tamil Nadu.”
An air wing commander of fighter jet MiG21, Abhinav Varthaman was captivated by the Pakistan government two days ago after the jet crash-landed in the Pak territory. Though there were initial doubts over his release, Pakistan government has agreed to free him as a friendly gesture.
