Chief Minister of Telangana Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao announced allocation of Rs 100 crores on Sunday for the development of ancient Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy temple into a spiritual and tourist destination. According to the information received from the department of Telangana tourism, the temple that is located on the banks of river Godavari is in Kaleshwaram of Karimnagar district and is dedicated to lord Shiva. It is to be noted that this decision of the Chief Minister to develop Kaleshwaram area into a tourist destination comes
on the verge of completion of prestigious Kaleshwaram irrigation project. The most unique aspect of this temple happens to be the presence of two lingams holding onto only one pedestal. The Chief Minister also visited the temple and Goddess Parvati temple on Sunday along with his family. The Chief Minister also added that residential quarters are going to be built for temple priests along with a Vedic school that would be an integrated complex. The district collector has also been instructed by the Chief Minister to procure 600 acres land for the development of the Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy temple.
