AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and DMK leader M.K. Stalin who formed an alliance with Congress to defeat the Modi government, however, had some differences in terms of the PM candidate. While Stalin supports Rahul Gandhi as the prime ministerial candidate, Chandrababu Naidu has a different say in this.

Chandrababu opined that the PM candidate should be decided after the Lok Sabha elections. “My stand is…post-election we’ll decide. I made it very clear, we should not announce a candidate today,” Naidu said at the “India Today Conclave South 2018”.

Chandrababu Naidu has put in a lot of efforts to bring the opposition parties together against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Chandrababu’s TDP had left the NDA earlier this year. The TDP had allied with the Congress and two other parties in the recent Telangana elections but the alliance was defeated.
