Secretary of CBSE Anurag Tripathi informed that duel levels for other subjects would also be offered by the Central board of secondary education as well if the board’s decision of introducing two levels of mathematics examination for class 10th from 2020 goes well.
Anurag Tripathi informed that the intention to have two levels of mathematics examination is to cater to different standards of pupils and for reducing the stress levels. He also added that students with different academic standards would appear exam of different levels just like in the international baccalaureate board.
He told that those students who will not pursue maths in the higher studies should opt for the easier level that will be known as mathematics basic. He also informed that if everything goes well with the mathematics examination. they would also think of introducing 2 levels of examination in future for other subjects as well.
There are approximately more than 20,000 schools affiliated to the Central board of secondary education across our country and approximately 30 lakh students appear the class 11th and 10th exams every year under the board.
