BJP fields Malegaon blasts accused Sadhvi Pragya against Digvijaya Singh

The Bharatiya Janata Party fielded Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur on Wednesday from the Bhopal parliamentary constituency where she is ready to have a direct contest with Congress party heavy weight and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijaya Singh.

Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur is out on bail facing a trial in the Malegaon blasts case and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party only hours before her name was announced as the Bhopal parliamentary constituency candidate underscoring the attempt of the party towards bringing the Hindutva plank at the centre stage of elections in the high profile Bhopal constituency that has been its bastion for many elections.

A National Investigation agency Court had dropped charges against Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur under the stringent Maharashtra control of organised crime act but the other co accused and Thakur are still facing other charges in the malegaon blasts case.
