AP coastal on high alert!

With the recent Indian Air Force (IAF) strikes at the terrorist camps across the Line of Control (LoC) in the early hours on Tuesday. The IAF has carried the strikes as a counter to Pulwama terror incident in which 40 CRPF jawans have lost their lives.

As Andhra Pradesh has the longest coastal corridor of 978 km from Srikakulam to Nellore districts a high alert is announced.

The East Godavari district Collector and state port director in charge Kartikeya Mishra said that we are on the warning of Indian Navy and Coast Guard on the defence aspect.

Speaking to media on Tuesday, Collector Kartikeya said, as of no particular information was obtained regarding the security issues.

He said that the Cargo vessels(ships) are moving as normal. No particular instructions were given to fishermen over venturing into the sea.

Meantime, Kakinada Port officer Dharma Sastha said that they are on the alert for last three days as per the directions of higher authorities.
