Speaking to reporters in Chennai, superstar Rajinikanth told that while a wave of support made Prime Minister Narendra Modi win second consecutive term in office in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, an opposing wave stalled the Bharatiya Janata party at Tamil Nadu borders and enabled the DMK alliance to register a sweeping majority.
Rajnikant told reporters that if a wave begins sweeping, those who stand against it cannot manage to win and the politicians who rode the wave have won. Though Rajinikanth announced his political entry on 31st December, he is yet to take the plunge as a full-fledged politician officially.
Rajinikanth also places Narendra Modi in the league occupied by charismatic Indian former Prime Ministers like Indira Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Rajiv Gandhi and state leaders such as Karunanidhi, MGR, Annadurai and Jayalalitha.
The superstar also confirmed that he is going to be attending the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on 30th May.
