Chief of Telugu Desam Party and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu has expressed doubts over the genuineness of EVMs and also feared that the programming of EVMs was tampered with.
Speaking to the reporters in Vijayawada on Monday, Chandrababu Naidu told that the EVMs are in the strong rooms but the genuineness cannot be trusted since they can be re-programmed or the chips present inside them can also be tampered with.
Chandrababu Naidu also discounted the results of the exit polls and told that the surveys have their own base and that the Telugu Desam Party survey was more reliable and authentic.
He told that they have been conducting surveys on the levels of satisfaction of the people on the Pradesh government programmes through IVRS survey and manual survey. He added that he is thousand percent sure of Telugu Desam Party’s victory. He also added that huge turnout of public at the polling stations and their long way to use their franchise was only because of his appeal to them for supporting developmental works.
He also demanded the Election Commission to count 50% of the VVPAT sips besides the votes polled in the electronic voting machines. He also added that there were some discrepancies during the process of polling and that several voting machines did not work.
